The aim of art is letting go. It is a journey to discover / explore / harmonize a space to wait less, to limit less, to flow. Creation, perhaps generated by the curiosities of mark making itself, begins when we break a blank surface and shed our expectations. By nature this leads to Self reflection and encourages one to grow. What do you see? How does it read? What does it represent? Art should have little evidence that it was created in more than one stroke. The goal being to have a cohesive expression made up of hundreds or thousands of threads that begin and end within the same space. A story without time, a puzzle of peace, complex and simple. My inspiration derives from astrology, mystery, story telling, music composition and uncertainty. These expressions range from and combine; observations from life, reflections on death/the origins of life, rebirth, abstraction, portraiture, cartoon, and collage. As I explore beyond my comfort zone I aim to leave behind something beautiful.
